024 NIKAR Outing @ Sentosa
Saturday, February 21, 2009 3:25 PM

Wheeeeepeeeeee! It's drizzling out there. Sucha breezy day, perfect for blogging.

Haha. Ohkay, yesterday was NIKAR outing cum Yuting's birthday celebration. :D We met up at as early as 9 in the morning. I was late for a few minutes, everyone was late except PPFFPP. Haha. Realized she's been punctual for outings lately. Keep that up!

Off we go to Sentosa. Took 188 there. It was a long and dreaded journey. Talked very little cos wasn't really in the mood to talk. :/

Had lunch @ Vivo City first. 'd 家乡面 for lunch HAHAHA the advertisement attracted us. To our disappointment, there isn't as much variety as what was shown on TV. Cheaterrr~ Well, I still ate with happiness cos I think the chilli is quite nice. Hahhaa. :)

Then we boarded the Monorail service to Sentosa. A big thank-you to the few Malay guys who offered to us their free tickets. We continued this kind deed and offered the 2 free tix to other people. Haha, we're such kind souls right!

Finally, we arrived @ Sentosa. Put down our bags, and we camwhored a little. Then we wenta play with waterrrr.

Then it started to rain. Wasn't a good day for us. We never met an outing when it rained. Yesterday wasn't a good day at all. Played only for 2 hours plus. We played Water Captain's Ball HAHAHA so fun! The rules of the game are the same as Captain's Ball, just that since it's got the 'word' in front, you can either choose to pass the ball by throwing, or by SWIMMING!

Hahahaha sounds like fun right! And of course, I swam. But it was so tiring. Too long didn't go swim alre, stamina + speed dropped helllots. x(

Affected by the rain, we went seek shelter @ the Lifeguard's place. It was so cold, some of them were trembling away. :S About an hour later, seeing that the rain didn't stop, we wenta bathe already.

This outing is certified NOT 100% FUN cos of the rain. Hmmph. Shall hit the beach another day sometime, most prolly in the June hols. Wheeeeee :) Can't vait can't vait >)

Okay, time for pictures!

<

<">

Left Sentosa @ around 4.30pm. We went VivoCity and met up with Daniel Lim and Jocelyn. Played a few rounds of Daidi. Meanwhile, we ate bread + Tuna. HAHAHA the bread's super hard manxzs! :D But it tasted nice cos I was hungry hehheh.

Feeling bored, we left and walked around Vivo. Took a group photo! Taken by a seemingly professional photographer. Hahaha. :D Thank you, man!

❤❤❤
After that, we spent about 2 @ Toys'R'Us, playing 'Gachapon'. If you've no idea what the hell it is, it's this:

Hahaha. Yes I think all of us spent around $40 going $50 just at those machines! Hahaha. The ones who spent more were Zhenyi and Jocelyn cos they kept getting the same damned thing they didn't believe it will ALWAYS be the same. Think they spent about $15-$20 each?!

Crazy right! Hahaha. :)

Photobucket

In particular, this was the machine they were crazy about. They kept getting the top row ones. However, those were the uglier ones, and the bottom row ones were much nicer and cuter, right? Hence, they kept trying and trying, but to no avail.

Finally!

They got the black one from the left in the bottom row! Cute right!

The subsequent tries were still the top-row ones. I think they've like 10 of that already in total?!?!?! Super crazy. Hahaha.

We showcased our collection later, and this was what we spent on.

If you count the total number of items there, then multiply the number by 3, it'll be the total amount of money all of us spent there. Cool right!

Now, REPRESENT THIS DATA IN MATRIX FORM HAHAHHA JOKING. I'm a Maths fanatic. Wheeeeee :)

Some candid photos taken by PPFFPP.

Hohoho, then we left for dinnerrrrr! Took bus 963 to BPP for dinner. During the journey, a quarter of the time was spent singing with PPFFPP. So nice to singgg at times. :DDD Good way to de-stress I think.

We ate 煮炒!So niceeee and heartwarming. It was the dinner @ Coffeeshop I'd with NIKAR manxzs please show me your envious faces. Wheeeeeexzs. The food was nice tooooo! I love the stingray and Kangkong. Hehheh. :)

❤❤❤
I still owe people money, and vice-versa! Hhahaha. :D

Till then people!

P/S: 4E seriously needs to take a class photo! I have to get the 4E blog done ASAP! So many classes have their own class blogs already. Grrr. :F

023 And when you see the sun after a storm, you see a ray of hope
Friday, February 20, 2009 10:53 PM

When you observe a block of ice melt, do you sense your determination shrinking?

I'm back world. Finally. 3 weeks of rehabilitation. Ain't that good to me, I really missed blogging. I just didn't have the time to blog. Have been so intensely mugging for CTs. Now that it's finally over, I'm given the license to blog nowwwww.

WHOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!

Firstly, I gotta congratulate myself for surviving 3 papers in a day! I never had 3 papers (of different subjects duh) in a day in my life. Wedneday was the first. It wasn't that good at all to me, for I have already failed my English. Needless to say, I'm upset. Hmm, why am I always so weak in my Compre skills? :O

Furthermore, Higher Chinese and History papers were tough. As expected, the HODs are always able to set DIFFICULT papers to make students turn out. Can you see the trend? Miss Lai set the English paper, Mdm Yong set the Higher Chinese paper and Mrs Ram set the History paper! Plus plus, Miss Kho set the Chemistry paper!

HOW MANY HODS DO YOU NEED TO SET CT PAPERS?!?!?!

As infuriating as I feel right now, I think that I can't excuse myself from scoring badly just because HODs are often stereotyped as the ones who are able to set papers of HIGHER difficulties. I can't.

Whatever it is, I've not known my results for 7 out of 8 subjects. It's just that English, was sucha letdown and disappointment. Gah, don't talk about it anymore.

Well, after CTs, had some de-stress session with PPFFPP and Zhenyi. We went walking around Jurong Point and IMM. Except for the walking (which was utterly boring), it was really fun and camwhoring was wacky too!

Wanna see the photos? Here's the link. I'm too lazy to upload them now.

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=logo#/photo.php?pid=1277383&id=547709700

Haha oright. Did some reflection just now. Here it is, don't know if it makes sense though.

Is it always true that if you put in extra effort for a certain subject you're particularly weak in, you're bound to score an A1 in O'Levels? I mean I'm not just scaling it down the O'Levels, it's just an example of a major examination. I mean, uh is hardwork purely the key to success? Can talent be another key-factor?

Somehow, I doubt it. Somehow, I believe that if one lacks the calibre, no matter how hard he/she works hard for it, and how much he/she knows she wants it terribly, he/she will still not score well. This has nothing to do with mindset, I'm serious. It's just ugh, you lack the ability to do it.

I know "Impossible is Nothing", but sometimes you'll have to think out of that: Students have worked extra hard for the subject they're weakest in, yet they still couldn't produce a distinction in major exams. And the most infuriating thing is, those who're born with a so-called 'talent' in a particular subject, can score EVEN BETTER than those who mug their life in it and yet unable to ace it.

I don't know why I'm typing this, but I think, your results are somehow determined by your intelligence. Sheer hardwork ain't enough definitely. Just like what Mr Shasi told me, ______ might not get A1 even though _____'s damn hardworking. I guess you all know who ______ is. Well, I'm not saying I trust his words entirely, but cases and cases have proved it, am I right?

It's just so unexplainable. Sheeeeeez.

Well well, I really hope that I can score well in this CTs. I want my aceeeeeeeeees pleaseeeee! Especially for those I've studied hard for. And most importantly, both Mathe.

Alamak, why am I setting so high expectations now? What's the use? :0

On a lighter note, I'm attending an Adam Khoo Workshop from next Monday to Wednesday! Can't wait to cry. Heard it's ultra motivating. Hmmmph.

And and, NIKAR outing tomorrow! Wheeeeeee :)

Okay, it's getting late. Gotta go sleep now. Seeya all soon!

022 You can get all A's and still flunk life
Sunday, February 1, 2009 3:02 PM

In case you do not know, this is already my third post for the day.

Scroll down to read my two other posts if you haven't!

They're filled with words and photos.

This post's just gonna be words. I gotta give an account of what's been happening to me in school these days right! :D At least Nadia's interested to know. Yippee :)

Well, after CNY hols, there was a Physics test. I flunked it totally. Like really totally. Sometimes I really wonder why I'm so weak at Physics. I used to do fine, but when Electromagnetism (+ induction) were taught, I got so freaked out and screwed up.

I MESSED UP ALL THE FACTS!

What I've summed up these few days of constant thinking and reflecting, is that

I BLOODY KNOW THE FACTS BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO APPLY THEM.

That's one big problem alright. It's ironic to see how others've scored well w/o much studying and how much I've studied for it and yet still flunk it. I'm flared up. ROARS!

Enough of Physics, now to Chemistry.

Ever since Miss Kho took over my class for Chemistry, my love for Chemistry has evolved greatly, and I could feel a spot in my heart has been planted for this subject. Which means,

I'M BEGINNING TO LOVE CHEMISTRY!

Contradicting enough, no matter how much I love it, I still DO NOT score in class/surprise tests. Even Miss Kho asked me several times,

"Why are you always stuck there and not progressing?"

"Is this your best?" She wrote in one of the tests. It was a class test, which means time was given for us to prepare, yet I didn't score well in it. :(

Why why why?

I still do not understand. But, one thing I definitely know, is that

THE PASSION YOU'VE IN ONE SUBJECT IS NOT

DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO THE RESULTS YOU

ACHIEVE.

Well, this is often the case for me, except for Mathematics you can say. I've been trying so hard to prove this statement of mine wrong. Hmm, maybe I've not enough practise? Maybe I've not understood the chapters enough? Maybe it's just me who isn't giving my best all along?

No matter what, I WILL NOT GIVE UP! I will still be constantly spurred to keep me going in this long journey. :D Can I do it?

YES, I DEFINITELY CAN!

Whooosh, so motivating. Now to Mathematics.

I'm really glad I scored quite well for my Modulus test. That's one of the tests I really prepared for. Could have gotten even higher had not for Miss Leong's murderous marking scheme.

I got my half-mark minused off just because my sketched graph ain't symmetrical. How much do you expect from art-idiots like me?! Hahaha.

Well, I'm not trying to be crude here. In fact, I think Miss Leong's marking style's great. She's trying to make us take note of ALL THE POSSIBILITIES THAT CAMBRIDGE MARKERS MIGHT FIND TO MINUS MARKS OFF OUR ANSWER SCRIPTS.

I believe, in the long term, this will serve to help us PERFECTIONISE (does this word exist?) our workings and not get a single mark deducted off by any teachers! 4E will work towards this ultimate goal and get 100% distinctions for you! :D

Needless to say, I'm definitely a supporter of her marking methods! Not if she minused every single mark off my answer script of course, I'm being practical here. Hahaha. :D

I love A Mathe forever laaaa! We're learning Differentiation now and I own this chapter la! Sorry for the confidence, but I think this chapter is really niceee. :D Although I still do not know what differentiation means, but the steps are all so solid (like in a crystal lattice structure) and we can score easily.

That's the main reason why I love A Mathe. Practise, remember the formulae and steps, and you'll get your A. Of course you need an ample amount of PASSION in it. Ah, I sound like a professional hahaha whops.

I think I got tooo carried away while talking bout Mathematics. I promise this will be short post, but turned out, not short at all. Hahhaa.

Now to Chinese. I've already made a vow to score an A1 for my Higher Chinese in the O's. Question now is only WHETHER I'M WILLING TO WORK HARD FOR IT OR NOT.

PPFFPP's gonna buy the Higher Chinese TYS once it's out. So am I! Hahaha yes, copy you. But practice makes perfect right! And like what Mdm Yong always says, you needa write constantly to achieve good results for Paper 1! :D

Now to English, a subject which I find I've difficultly acing it. Somehow I think, the chances of my getting an A for English in my O'Level is slim. Really really slim. I guess I'm not working hard enough.

Heard from Guanyeow that his friends in his batch who got A1 for their English wrote essays everyday, and read up A LOT. Gah, guess it's time I've to pick up a habitto read. I've always disliked reading. It makes me feel headachey easily. Still, I'm gonna make weekly trips to the library if I can, and borrow 2 books each time! Hahahha. :D

Wait, can my library card be used? Or can I use my EZ-Link card? Hahahha.

Whatever it is, I need urgent brushing up on my English. Period.

Lastly, on Combined Humanities. I think I'm so gonna die. I've little underdstandings on the chapters after Fascist Japan (for History) and Bonding Singapore (for Social Studies).

IT'S ALL BECAUSE I DON'T BOTHER TO READ IT THE SECOND TIME!

Everytime Mr Tan finished going through this chapter, I don't bother to bring the textbooks back home and read them again the second/third time for a better understanding. I used to do that in the past, but now, I guess it's all laziness. I've many lazy habits to kick off man. Shall list them out now:

1. Not reading frequently, including newspapers
2. Not reading up on History/Social Studies textbooks
3. Not practising enough for Physics
4. Not working hard enough for Chemistry (I've always thought I've)

Well, well, guess it's time for me to spank these bad habits off. Of course, it takes time. I'll have to do it one-by-one.

My road to success starts here.

P/S: This post is meant to be motivational for me. I'll write more of these posts once in a while and read them whenever I've lost the drive.

Rest well, every one. Do not fall sick! :D

021 Mooooo your way to happiness

HAPPY CHINESE NIU YEAR EVERY ONE!

I know I'm very late, almost every one's subsided from the Chinese New Year ambience. Still, I've to blog bout it right! :D

This year, I didn't feel that excited as compared to the previous years. I guess it's because of the fact that I'm Secondary 4 this year. What a great turnoff. Still, it was great because

1. I'd the usual reunion dinner with my maternal side.
2. I won money in Mahjong.
3. Many photos taken.
4. I completed my homework before CNY (nothing to be proud of)

Reunion Dinner

This was on 除夕夜. This year, my family was the FIRST to reach Ahma's house. Felt really great, cause we're ALWAYS THE LAST to reach. However, this year, due to the addition of BBQ, my family had to be there first to do some setting up. :)

Soon after, Lowell and Jefferson came over. In case you don't know them, they're my cousins. Lowell's two years younger than me whereas Jefferson's a year older than me.

Oh, cut the formal introduction. Anyways, we talked, camwhored (w/o my cousins - they're shy), and soon, Eeteng and Zhongxin were hereee. Being superb camwhorers, we took many many shots. :D

Dajie and I. I tried to take a shot w/o showing my teeth and I looked fine right! :D

Slutty Erjie, hideous me and cut-off Dajie.
LMAO.

Shaky.

A failed attempt to act-cool.

Hello Ahma!

Erjie scavenging for foooood. Hawhaw.

Eeteng sitting on her inflated airplaneeeee :D

She loves plane rides.

Eeteng molesting her brother! And ZX goes, "Eeeeee".

My Dajie with them. Cuteness, not the one in the middle though :D

Eeteng, Zhongxin, Dajie (Erjie's unglam face behind)

Me and them. They looked so small sized with me.

Zhongxin and I.

Zhongxin and I again, with slightly more formality.

Eeteng insisted on taking a solo shot. There you go, lovely.

Her Dad (my uncle) complaint that twists are way too dull.
Then she did this. Triple twist, yair? :D

Eeteng: HAPPY NIU YEAR!

Mooooooo!

Her brother's shy.

<
Hence, he did this. HAHAHA ;DDDD

And then, we started BBQ-ing.
The kids bbqed first while the adults had steamboat.

BBQ Table

Steamboat table.

People steamboating.

People BBQing (excluding me)
Do you see Eeteng somewhere?
No, she wasn't BBQing, she was just mingling with the crowd :D

This was after steamboat.
Eeteng lovesss her blue beetle.

She loves it so much she wants me to take an individual shot of it. :D

Zhongxinnnnn!

Eetengggg!

Shoes (one side)

Shoes (the other side)

Eeteng's, I mistook them for Zhongxin's.

Zhongxin's. HAHA Ben 10!

After some time, we 捞鱼生. It was fun! I love eating 鱼生, though I know many teens dislike it. Still, I love it. I loike the taste of it especially, the cookies' nice and crispy too. :D

As my hands were dirty from the 捞ing, I did not take a picture of it. What a pity.

It was angbaos-giving timeeeee! This year, I received angbaos from Ahma and my 3 aunts. 4 in total. My 2nd uncle has finally got married (last year), hence I received an angbao from him. Yeyyyyy! :D

After that, my 2nd uncle came over to my house and we played Mahjonggggg! For that night, I was the overall winnerrrrrr! My Erjie and I won, while my Dajie and uncle lost. I won more, compared to my Erjie. Hahaha. :D

@ about 12mn, as it was rather late, my Uncle went back. Watched TV shows about the zodiacs. They said Roosters are rather good this year. Yeh X1234567890 for me!

@ about 1.45am, I wenta sleeep.

大年初一

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

Great. Woke up slightly later this year compared to the previous years. This year, my family didn't have many places to visit. I can say, this year, CNY for me was rather dead, I mean the atmosphere was low. Hahaha.

Went to a few places only. Jurong, then Bukit Panjang then back to Marsiling.

Camwhored with my family after reaching home. We siblings were so enthu whereas my parents looked so sian, hahaha. :D

Brother and Sisters

Stand up.

Very close up.

:DDDD

Hi Dad.

Family Photo. :D
The formal one.

The informal one. Moooooos~

Mom posing.

Mom Solo shot.

Mom and Dad.
Dad looked so cheeeeky, hahaha :D

New Year goodies arranged by Mom.
This is like one-third of what we used to have in the previous years. Hahaha.
Imagine the whole table filled up with goodies. Flood uh~~

Back in the room,
Erjie and I attempted to act cool.

I think this is ugly. Hahhaa.

This was ultra candid. Again.

Much betterrrrrr ;D
Except for the slouching (Dajie!)

Sisters. Look alike? :O

Intentionally meant to be bitchy. :)

Act cool again.

Haha. I'm afraid that's all. It's quite little right? Zzzz. Never mind!

Later, my uncle came over and we MJ-ed for another three hours. Again, I won money. Wheeeee. :) Told you roosters are lucky this year. If your zodiac sign's a rooster and you didn't gamble this year, it's sucha great pity, cause you could be $10-$1000 richer. Ain't that great? Hahaha. :D

大年初二

This day was quite low too. In the afternoon, my paternal side came over. All of them, except two cousins I think. Surprisingly, I saw Wanyi! Yes, she's my cousin. My cousin's cousin. So we're co-related. How cool. ;)

As usual, I didn't talk much cause I am SUPER NOT CLOSE WITH MY PATERNAL SIDE. That's one thing I'm really sad about. Fate made us to be relatives, yet I still did not cherish the opportunities to be close with them. :(

Well, well, never mind. Even my friendly sisters don't mind. Hahaha.

Moving on~

This year, I didn't go over to my third uncle's house and play banlak (Blackjack). 50% because there was no one to accompany me there (Erjie was having stomachache, Dajie didn't want to go, parents don't go at all), and 50% because I didn't want to lose the $$ I won in Mahjong earlier. Hahaha. My paternal side play really big and I always lose so I can't afford to take the risk anymore.

Instead, I called Lowell and Jefferson and my Uncle (maternal side) and continued with our Mahjong game. And vrahlala, I won again! I kept winning in Mahjong. I keep 4 tai, pong pong hu and ping hu w/o flowers. That's a lot okay! :D

Well, in total, I won

$10.70 from Mahjong itself!

Well, considering the fact that I only played with 10 cent coins ONLY. It's really just 10 cent coins. So if it's 5 tai, it's only 50 cents. I could still win >$10. Think, if I were to play with $2 notes, how much would I win?

100 times! Which means

$200++++++!

So hiong right! It's alright, I didn't mourn over the small win. Instead, I was really over the mooooon. Hahaha. :) I think I'm quite addicted to Mahjong. So, I am trying NOT TO PLAY anymore. Actually, I think playing Mahjong w/o money bores me out easily, no excitement at all. If you win, it's just, "Oh, pong. Hu, 4 (for example) tai".

YOU DON'T GET THE MONEY AT ALL!

Haha so, I really prefer playing with money. But again, not so big. Else I'd go bankrupt if I happen to be on a LOSING streak.

Okay okay, enough about Mahjong. Hmm. My post shall end here.

Check out my latest entry about

SCHOOLIFE.

Is it a turndown? Hahaha. Imagine happy events, atmospheric occasions, then suddenly the cursed word 'school' appears. Will you feel affected? Hahaha.

Rest assured I'll only blog a short one bout how I'm doing in school. I know it bores you out. Hahaa.

Ciao
