012 Family Chalet 2008
Friday, December 26, 2008 2:10 PM

Family Chalet was fun! Except for one thing:

I DIDN'T PLAY MAHJONG AT ALLLLLLLL! D:

Shall elaborate on that later. Shall continue with my detailed entry + pictures.

This year, unlike the other years, my Aunt got a BIGGGGGGER (seriously much bigger) chalet for the whole family (maternal side). It's like about 5 times bigger than the 2 storey chalet @ Costa Sands. And it's so damn effin' cheap. Guess what!

$120 for 5 nights!

Hohohoho. I don't know if it's a Christmas offer but it's really darn cheap! :D However, this offer can only be gotten if you were one of the two who got chosen in a lucky draw (fyi, thousands joined this lucky draw). And my Aunt was ultra lucky, cos one of the two happened to be her friend, who then OFFERED this great offer to her.

How nice can her friend get?! How lucky can my Aunt get?! How fortunate can we be to stay in there for a night?! :DDDDD

Here're some pictures of the HDB Bungalow (I think PPFFPP might have stayed in there before, I recalled her telling me how great it was when we were @ 2A Chalet last December).

The bedrooms. They've 3 such rooms.

Beside the bed.

The stairs. Dad, Jefferson and ZX are on it.

One of the two dining tables.

Look @ how spacious the living room is.

The TV is a little small though :}

My AHMA's behind!

At about hmm, lemme recall, 6.30pm, Dad drove us to my Granny's place. We helped to carry things (food, baby stuff) to the taxi. At 7pm sharp, we set off to Pasir Ris Road, where the HDB Bungalow is located.

Oh my God was the first line I said. It was really big, nice, big, nice, big, nice. HAHAHA. I'm using simple words cos that's how simple the meaning is. :) After putting down my bags, I took out my camera and started taking pictures. Yeh x)

ZHONGXIN! :D

姐弟情深!

Eeteng! :)

Lying down and twising.

I love the effect of this photo! Like she's doing some huffing and puffing. xD

Er Jie and ET.

ZX, Er Jie and ET :D

Blurry.

Big nostrils.

Then it was time for BBQ. In fact, before we reached there, the BBQ has already started. We reached @ around 7.35pm I think. The driver (my Dad)'s damn fast! ;)

Ate a little only though, wasn't very hungry I don't know why. Then started camwhoring again. In the activity (MJ!) room, on the dining table, on the sofa, everywhereeeeee! Hahaha.

Blurred Uncle, Mum, ZX and Ahma!

My ahma's shyyyy.

ET loves playing this.

ZX and I :D

A great pity I didn't take a picture of the activity room. I wanted to play Mahjong so much, but, but sighx I couldn't. Not that I didn't, I couldn't. Haha elaboration later continue reading manx! xD

After that the whole family gathered and caught The Little Nyonya. I didn't watch, I was busy playing with my 2 adorable cousins, Ee Teng and Zhong Xin. Wheeeee both of them are darn cute especially Zhong Xin! :DDDDD

Soon, it was time to celebrate my cousin, Jefferson's birthday! His birthday falls on 24th December, which is also Christmas Eve. That's uber nice please! >) Took a few photos too.

Birthday boy with ET and ZX. Look @ his miserable ZX is.

ET solo shot.

Happy 16th Birthday, Jefferson!

Sang birthday song tooo so nice! :) Then we ate the cake, quite nice and spongy. Hahaha. :) I love chocolate!

Then then we slacked around. The adults (my uncle's friends) played Mahjong. How I wished I could play. Well, time to elaborate why I couldn't play.

1) They are too professional, fast and scary!

I happened to enter the room and watched them play one game. OMG they're dang fast and pro! Even when it comes to rolling die and counting numbers, they're MUCH MUCH faster than me. *gasps*

Then the way they played was also super swift! Like, they can tell what the tile is by just using their thumb to 'examine' it. And when one of the players was one step from winning the game ie. 听牌, the next player simply threw the tile that he wanted. And he went, "Pong (the correct word to say when you've won the game), si tai," meaning four tai2.

UBER SCARY! Tell me, how to play with such pro people?

2) They played with chips (equates to kachinggg)

Their bets are way too big. Like one blue chip is $1, one green chip is $10, pink chip is $100?! It was so scary that my uncle lost $300+ just on that night itself by playing 2 rounds. Okay, when I mean 2 rounds it isn't just 2 games of Mahjong only, it's two rounds of going East, South, West and North. Again, if you don't get what I mean, you're a total noobie. HAHHAHA :x

My Dad was one of the players and I'm happy enough that he won $30. Lucky thing he didn't lose. He claimed that he'd not gambled for 10 years (that's why my house doesn't have Mahjong table and tiles) and that night was a COMEBACK for him. Wheeeeew.

3) If I were to play, I'd definitely lose thousands!!! (okay, exaggerating)

HAHAHA. Regardless of whether it is speed, accuracy, professionalism, counting die numbers, counting tais, I lost to them in all aspects! What a shame. Plus, Dad told me, if I were to play with them, I would definitely lose till my butt burns! ROFLMAO.

Hence, these explained why I couldn't play Mahjong.

Like totally sadness, I was so prepared to play, yet I couldn't. Sighx. But NEVER MIND! I've a Mahjong appointment with PPFFPP tomorrow! I'm so gonna go her house and play tomorrow for 5 hours straight (if we can) HAHAHHA. But before that, I'm gonna teach her some Matrices in the morning. I think I've forgotten how to do them. Sheeesh.

WE'RE IN NEED OF 2 MJ KAKIS!

Interested? Please make your way to Teck Whye Lane HAHAHA text me instead! :D

Back to the topic. Since my Dad was one of the players, I, as his son, heir of the family (OMG LITTLE NYONYA), must SUPPORT HIM ALL THE WAY! Thus, I watched Dad play MJ till 4 in the morning. Time really flies, just 2 rounds (uh, about 20 games only?) and 4 hours passed. Hmmmm. Wonder how many rounds I'll play @ PPFFPP's house tomorrow.

Okay, back to the point again. I always sidetrack. My Dad could have won more if not for the second round, the other 2 players (which aren't my Uncle and Dad) made a TOTAL comeback. They were a middle-aged woman and a man.

VRAHLAU, the woman kept pinghu 4 tai! Somemore it's zi mo (self-drawn) and it's 5 tai! The man kept yao dao (Getting a combination of either the cock & the centipede or the cat & the rat) like 5 times?!?! Somemore, in one particular game, he gang-ed (you get four f the same tiles) thrice! That's already a lot of money already, like I think $100?!?! Goshes x,x

Ultimately, because my Dad wasn't lucky enough in the second round (my luck has all been used up in the first round), he got from winning $100+ to $30. Not bad la, actually. Winning small is definitely better than losing big. :p

So @ 4am, Dad and I went up to catch some rest. Hahaha. I didn't really sleep well, even though I was pretty tired. Imagine sleeping @ 4 in the morning :D So coooool.

The next day, I'd Instant Roti Prata and coffee for breakfast. Wheee so crunchy and nice. The curry's nice too (although it's canned food). I love spicy! :D

Then we [I, Jefferson, Lowell (my other cousin) my sisters, Ee Teng and Zhong Xin] went to the playground nearby and played. :DDDD The playground is niceeeeee! Or should I say are? Cos there were lotsa playgrounds. I think I went there during 2A Chalet. I remember the spinning thing.

AH-HA this one!

Ah nostalgia.

We played the swings with ET and ZX. :D

ET's quite afraid of the swing actually.

Twisting on the baby swing :D

Unglam sister.

About an hour later, we went back. Time for the adults to leave. Before that we had a family photo-taking session like usual. HAHAHA. Whenever there're family gatherings, there will definitely be family shotx. My Mum is always the one being super high while the kids will all feel boredddd. Hahahha.

ET and ZX posing.

ET, ZX and Uncle on the swing. Look @ ZX's eyebrows!

Me and my Mum hahaha :)

The rest of the photos are in my Aunt's camera.

After bidding Goodbye to the adults (plus my sis, ET and ZX), we wenta Escape theme Park. OMG I must say ETP is damn boring after repeatedly going every year. Furthermore, Revolution has been demolished (I think it's rather unsafe), Rainbow is undergoing maintenance and Flipper is so damn bored. Inverter couldn't be played too, due to the rain.

This left us with only Pirate Ship and the carnival games. My first ride on Pirate Ship was fun! I think it's because I've not sat on it for too long, so that explains the heart itchy-ness. HAHAHA. Even my Sister agreed with me. All in all, I played Pirate Ship thrice with my Sister, Flipper once and the carnival games. That's all. ETP is so boringgggg~

After that we met with my Uncle and Aunts and we went for lunch. Ate Laksa (they claimed in their menu that it's the Traditional Katong Laska but I doubt so, Katong Laksa isn't supposed to be spicy, it's supposed to smell nice) and Green Apple Milkshake. Hahaha.

Then I bought some Dark chocolate back for just $11! :D Gonna eat them soon, bit by bit. Too much will give me a sore throat. :)

Yeh Family Chalet was awesome this year! But it'd be PERFECT if I got to play Mahjong. Still, it's alright. Cos tomorrow will be the day I get to play. FINALLY! :)

Oh, I wanna thank JOCELYN YEOH SHU YI for coming to my house to deliver the jellies. I love it a lot! :) And hope the pigeons and my sis didn't scare you HAHAHA. xD

I was too hungry I ate 2 before I can even take a picture of it.

Also, I wanna thank BRANDON ONG JUN YANG (hope you'll see this but chances're slim) for the self-made Christmas card! It's really nice and heart-warming. :D

Nice handwriting, Brandon! :D

Really love this card a lot! :D

End of post.
